The rising action in the novel was when all of the characters made it onto the Wilhelm Gustloff and they were on board. This is the rising action because when they were on the boat, people started talking about subs that were torpedoing other ships.
What is the falling action in Salt to the Sea?
Falling ActionMiraculously Joana, Flourian and Klaus make it off of the ship alive, in the same life boat. They are forced to see thousands of others not as fortunate as them freeze and drown in the frigid waters of the Baltic sea, among the thousands of others are the Shoe Poet and Emilia.
